Holden was raised in Portsmouth Hampshire. She spent much of her childhood in Bishop's Waltham. When she was nine years old she was accepted into the Bishop's Waltham Little Theatre Company. Holden also has TV credits that include three series with Caroline Quentin and Chris Langham on the comedy Kiss Me Kate, three episodes of ITV's The Grimleys and Celeb With Harry Enfield on BBC, and the Boxing Day special Agatha Christie's Marple Episode "4.50 from Paddington" with Geraldine McEwan and John Hannah. In Ready When You Are Mr. McGill by Jack Rosenthal she appeared alongside Bill Nighy, Tom Courtenay, and Aleha Dixon. Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams are judges on Britain's Got Talent. She was the judge on Britain's Got Talent between 2006 to the year 2006.
