Madhuri Dixit

MadhuriMadhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress known for her roles in the films 'Beta',"Saajan," and 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun'. ..!' The actress began her career in the 1980s , and gained fame with her performance in the movie 'Tezaab', where she starred with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. The following time, she was in the movie 'Dil' which she co-starred alongside Aamir Khan. She was born to a Mumbai middle-class family, and started dancing at an early age. As a youngster she tried acting, but was unsuccessful for several years. Her career took off and she went on to be a leading actress in the Indian film industry. She had a short break from her career after her marriage and then returned to the entertainment business. More recently, she played an important part in the film 'Gulaab Gang", which focused on the struggles of women in India. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she won eight. She was also presented with the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian honor. She is also well-known for her work in the field of social service.
